There are a number of approaches to hormone replacement therapy and careful consideration of your own needs is required by consultation with your doctor.
Regular follow-up and assessment is a necessary component of your health plan and particularly important with hormone replacement.
Hormones that have been supplemented include: Progesterone, oestrogens, testosterone and there are various ways of providing these which may include synthetically derived products that provide the required hormonal effects (e.g. progestins) and others which are bio-identical (commonly referred to as 'natural') hormone agents.
The methods used to assist with supplementation include: applications like creams, pessaries, tablets, patches, injectable, and sustained action products.
